We supply small and large-scale bioplastics in their raw and blended forms. We offer a broad range of PLA, PHA, PBS and PBAT grades which can be used in numerous applications. PLA and PHA are bio-based and compostable. PBS can be produced from renewable resources, and is compostable. PBAT is not bio-based but is compostable.
WHAT ARE BIOPLASTICS?
Bioplastics are a type of plastic that can be produced from natural resources and may also be biodegradable. Bioplastics are a key enabler to a circular economy.
Their adoption has been increasing at an impressive rate as the production capacity of biodegradable polymers has grown from c. 100 tons in 2003 to over 1,500 tons. This is attributed to enhancements to their properties and reduction in production costs.
With bioplastics making up less than 1% of the total global plastics production, their growth potential is far from being realised, and with that, the potential to make an impact: far beyond net-zero.
Bioplastics are carbon neutral polymers, lowering the emission of greenhouse gasses over their lifecycle. They are also chemically and mechanically recyclable, permitting their integration into the circular economy.
When reuse is not possible, bioplastics can either be composted or naturally biodegrade.
